Karly Pulido is the Resource Efficiency Officer for Miami-Dade County Public Schools, where she leads large-scale initiatives focused on energy management, infrastructure optimization, sustainability, and operational resilience across one of the nation’s largest school districts. She has helped secure and manage more than $50 million in public funding and partnerships supporting clean energy, electric transportation, indoor air quality, and high-performance school facilities. With a background spanning engineering, sustainability, and public sector operations, her work connects climate strategy with student outcomes, financial stewardship, and long-term infrastructure planning. Karly's work lives at the intersection of building cross-sector partnerships and translating complex technical challenges into actionable strategies that create measurable impact for schools and communities.

Karen Jernigan serves as Director of Market Transformation & Development at the U.S. Green Building Council. With more than a decade of experience advancing renewable energy, LEED certification, and net-zero strategies, Karen is passionate about helping organizations turn sustainability ambitions into meaningful, measurable results. Karen’s work focuses on integrating resilience and energy efficiency into design and operations, driving measurable impact across the built environment.

Robert Werthamer, RA, LEED AP is the Director of Sustainability at Stratus (formerly Zyscovich Architects) with over 45 years of experience designing and constructing educational campuses, transportation facilities, and civic buildings that are energy-efficient, resilient, and healthy. His expertise bridges architecture and construction management, with a focus on creating sustainable facilities that respond to local climate, resources, and environmental education.

Robert integrates health and wellness strategies with resilient building solutions, fostering an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach that engages project stakeholders from inception through certification. He has extensive experience with sustainable rating systems, including USGBC LEED, NGBS, Guiding Principles, GBI Green Globes, and the FGBC, consistently advancing sustainable goals while promoting the well-being of building occupants.
